Driver Hospitalized After Slamming Into Parked Vehicle In Hamilton, Police Say

A 52-year-old driver was hospitalized after crashing into a vehicle parked on the side of a Hamilton street, authorities said.

Gerald Lane, of Trenton, was heading eastbound on E. State St. in a 2015 Subaru Legacy when he hit a parked vehicle on E. State St. near Norway Ave. just before 10:35 p.m. on Friday, August 19, Hamilton Police said.

The impact pushed the parked vehicle into the fence of Global Painting at 1517 E. State St., while the Subaru continued east on E. State St. before stopping on the corner with Johnston Ave., police said.

Lane was taken by Robert Wood Johnson medics to Capital Health Fuld for injury treatment.

The crash remains under investigation, police said. Witnesses are asked to contact the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit at (609) 581-4000.
